In spring 2003 a group of Czech hockey aficionados living in the Chicagoland decided to form an amateur ice hockey team. Inspired by other Czech and Slovak teams, they wanted to take their hockey passion to a higher level. Instead of just playing for fun, they wanted to compete with others. That's how FIGHTERS came to life. The first official opportunity to measure up their strength was Czechoslovakian Cup in July, 2003. Intensive training followed and a few months later, FIGHTERS played the winter season of the adult hockey league, C-division, in Bensenville, IL. In spring & summer 2004 FIGHTERS played the adult hockey league in Franklin Park, IL. It was a very successful season and FIGHTERS finished second. Currently trainings take place every Wednesday 10:30 PM at the Franklin Park Ice Arena.
